Acupuncture

Traditionally acupuncture is part of the Traditional Chinese Medical system, and is used to treat people with a diverse range of illness. By inserting fine needles into the channels of energy, an acupuncturist can stimulate the body’s own healing response and help restore its natural balance.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to promote healing with acupuncture. The purpose of moxibustion, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health.

Moxibustion is used on people who have a cold or stagnant condition. The practice expels cold and warms the meridians, which leads to smoother flow of blood and qi.

Gua Sha

Gua sha aims to move energy, known as qi or chi, around the body. The treatment involves using a tool to rub the skin in long strokes, applying enough pressure to create minor bruising.

Gua sha may help to break down scar tissue and connective tissue, improving movement in the joints.

Tui Na

Tui Na, is a therapeutic form of massage and has been used in China for more than 5,000 years. It is a safe and effective treatment for a wide variety of conditions. Tui na massage therapy is used for treating people of all ages, from infancy to old age, and is particularly effective in pain management, relieving muscular tension and treating musculoskeletal disorders.

Cupping

This pain-free method uses suction to create a vacuum within the cups. The vacuum causes the skin and underlying tissue to be lifted upwards into the cup, creating a decompression between the layers of the tissue, which helps improve blood flow to the targeted area. The enhanced blood flow stimulates the healing process and may help reduce inflammation, and is also an effective treatment therapy for alleviating areas of muscle tension and pain..
